When was SIMS Founded?
SIMS took its existence by the hardship of Late Ln.B.R.Prasad, in 1978 in Guntur.


What is the benefit if I am Stydying in SIMS?

Success is not just based on college, excellent Infrastructural Facilities & Dedicated Academic staff, at SIMS things are practised as they are tought. Long term success depends on always putting the intrests of our students first.

 

1.   I am interested in pursuing nursing  education but my optional subjects in 10+2 are not related to biological sciences.  Am I eligible to pursue my higher studies in nursing?

    

 Ans: SIMS offers Nursing Courses at Various levels Viz.,

              B.Sc., (N) - a graduate programme in Nursing.

              G.N.M - a Diploma Programme in Nursing.

              A.N.M - a Certificate Programme in Nursing.

 

     A student with 10 +2 background with any optional subject (Biological Sciences, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, Mathematics) are eligible for Diploma in Nursing which is a 3 1/2 Programme.


2.  I have secured   a total percentage of 48% in my 10+2 exams with Biological Sciences as optional subjects and I have secured 50% of marks in optional subjects, am I eligible for admission into B.Sc., (N) Course?

 

Ans: The eligibility criteria for admission into B.Sc (N) Course is a pass in 10+2 with 50% of aggregate Marks in English, Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board.

 

  1. Am a student with Mathematics as optional subject in 10+2.  I want to take admission in B.Pharm Course, but am afraid whether I can cope up with the course which is more related to Biological Sciences?

 

Ans: For the students admitted from Mathematics stream, Biological Sciences is       compulsory subject include in the I year B.Pharmacy Curriculum.  This subject deals with basics  of biological sciences both in theory and practicals, which helps the student to gain a better understanding and with this knowledge he can easily proceed to the succeeding years without any difficulty.

 

  1. I have done my DMLT Course for a period of 1 year after completion of S.S.C, Now an interested in studying B.Sc. (M.L.T) Course, can I get admission into B.Sc.(M.L.T) Course?

 

Ans: We are very sorry to inform you that you are not eligible for admission into B.Sc.(M.L.T) degree course.  The eligibility criteria for B.Sc (M.L.T) is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Biological Sciences, Physics & Chemistry as Optional subject (or) Pass in Vocational Intermediate with M.L.T as optional subjects.

 

         DMLT students from any recognized and unrecognized board are not eligible for admission into B.Sc.(M.L.T) but they are eligible for vocational Intermediate with M.L.T Group.                  

 

  1. I have completed my 10+2 in NOS, New Delhi with (PCBE), can I get admission in BPT at SIMS?

 

 Ans: Completion of 10+2 at NOS is eligible for admission into BPT Course, Provided University of Health Sciences issues equivalency certificate. (i.e the Certificate issued by NOS should be equivalent to Intermediate Course of Board of Intermediate Andhra Pradesh).

 

  1. Is the internship in BPT Programme a integral part of the course and is it   compulsory or optional?

 

Ans: BPT degree course is a 4 ½ degree Programme out of which the last 6 months of      the course is a compulsory rotatory internship programme.  The course will be completed only if the student completes all the requirements of the internship.  The course completion certificate will be issued only after the successful completion of VIII Semesters study period and 6 months rotatory internship period.

 

  1. Am a Physiotherapy graduate completed B.Sc (PT) from Karnataka.  Am interested in doing my Masters Programme in Pediatric Neurology at SIMS, what are the other branches available in MPT Programme.

 

    1. Orthopedics.
    2. Cardio-respiratory.
    3. Neurology.
    4. Sports Medicine.

 

  1. What is the system followed for the degree Programmes like B.P.T & B.Sc. (N), a semester system or an year system?

 

Ans: For B.P.T Course, the entire curriculum is divided into VIII semesters, the NTR University of  Health Sciences conducts examination at the end of each semester.

 

 

         Where as in B.Sc.(N) course the curriculum is divided into IV years and the examinations are conducted at the end of each academic year by the NTR University of Health Sciences.
